Action News Mission Statement

At Channel 13 Action News, we are committed to making Las Vegas a better place for you and your family.  We strive to solve every day problems that can make life in Las Vegas frustrating.

Action News tackles problems that government and big business ignore.  We ask tough questions and hold those in authority accountable.

We all want to feel like somebody is looking out for us.  And here at Action News, that's exactly what we're doing for you.  When you have a problem in your neighborhood, it can be tough to get help.  You don't know who to contact to get results.  That's where we come in.  We call it "You Ask.  We Investigate. "

It started a couple years ago when Peggy Tejido, a grieving mother, came to us, frustrated that nothing had been done at the dangerous intersection where her daughter, Verlaine Powless, was killed.  Our stories got the attention of county leaders who pushed for a traffic light at the intersection.  Peggy could finally rest easy that others crossing the street would be safer.  She was even there to turn on the stoplight in memory of her daughter. (You can see the series of stories by clicking here).

Stories like that provide the perfect example of how You Ask, We Investigate is making Las Vegas a better place to live.  It's our mission statement here at Action News, and we take it very seriously.  Our stories run the gamut.  From concerns about community eyesores to problems with your homeowner's association to issues with your child's bus stop… we leave the coverage up to you.  Tell us what's bugging you, what's got you frustrated, where you need results.  We're here to provide you a voice when you feel like you have nowhere else to turn.   Together, we can make positive changes in our community, one story at a time.

So send us an email, and let us know how we can help you.  The address is 13investigates@ktnv.com.  You can also fill out our online form with as many details as possible. Our team looks at every request that comes in. We look forward to working with you to make Las Vegas a better place to live.

Sincerely,

Nina Radetich
